EPHESUS… The Jewel of the Eastern Roman Empire

"Magnificent, awe-inspiring, brilliant, amazing, excellent, outstanding.... these are just a few words that may go a quarter of the way to describing what has to be one of the world's most famous archaeological sites. However, nobody could really succeed in describing Ephesus with words, no matter how articulate they may be. Ephesus has to be seen with one's own eyes to be fully appreciated."

Although the dates may not coincide, when one wanders through the city of Ephesus, films such as Spartacus, Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments come to mind. With most archaeological sites throughout the world, a great deal of imagination is required to try and visualize what life must have been like thousands of years before - not so with Ephesus. Visitors can wander through the city's streets and see with their own eyes the way people lived and the houses and buildings in which they lived and worked.
Many people who have seen other sights like pyramids of Egypt and the City of Pompeii say these sites pale to insignificance beside the brilliance of Ephesus.

If you enjoy History, or if you are interested in seeing Virgin Mary’s House and you don’t mind taking 4 hours of bus journey you should definitely take this trip. … The Jewel of the Eastern Roman Empire
