They use a shetland pony which even 3-6 year old kids can groom and bigger ponies for children rides.

The horses all seem in good condition and enjoy a good standard of living. The horse was specially chosen, (good temperament etc for someone who hasn't riden properly since childhood) for me to suit my needs. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the location is beautiful at this (winter) time of year when everywhere is green.

We were unlucky enough to get the worst driver I have ever encountered in my life !! .

He took unecesary risks whilst driving on the main road, indeed he almost collided with one vehicle whilst stupidly overtaking around a blind bend.

I complained more than once but this fell on deaf ears untill he eventually succeeded in breaking the suspension whilst travelling at speed in off road conditions.

I would recommend choosing your driver wisely if you get the chance and also pick the jeep with the most children onboard as these tended to travel at much lower speeds.

We expected a pleasant day out amongst fantastic scenery, exploring off road mountain tracks, waterfalls and rural villages; what we got was a white knuckle ride with no seat belts with a nutter as a driver and to top it off they handed water guns ( extra cost,,,) out and within 5 mins everyone was drenched which pretty much was the way the day continued.

I personally would not risk my life again on a Jeep safari unless I had absolute proof of the drivers competence.

Good luck , you may need it !!!!!.

You can't visit Turkey without one. Do it sooner in your holiday rather than later - it scrubs off all the top flaky layer of your skin so will take off your tan! It does help produce a cleaner, more even holiday tan though!

Has anyone ever visited the ranch next door?

Marmaris Horse Riding Club. 2 horses have died there in the last two weeks, one was 3 years old, and its standard of care is diabolical. The horses are worked 4-5 times a day and rides go out at 12 noon & 2pm...the hottest times. The staff are untrained and speak only limited english.I strongly recomend that everyone opt for Dortnal ranch if they wish to ride and avoid Marmaris horse riding club at all costs.
