The last comment is about right for prices, but clothes are cheaper - we got 12 'designer' t-shirts for a tenner, so haggle plenty. The upper end of the fake market is much better quality - I bought a g-star t-shirt and jeans for £25 three years ago, and they are still in excellent condition. Turkey is the worlds second largest cotton producer, and thats why clothes are cheap. If you go, try Bar Nil at the end of the marina (closest to Bar Street) - excellent food. The guys are Thomas Cook, Ice Cream and Tony Macaroni. Laters

Just say no thanks and they should leave you alone. Stay in the busy areas if you are not overly confident.

Marmaris is fairly cheap but not dirt cheap so be careful. On average, a full evening meal with a drink will cost you about £8-10, a full English breakfast + tea/coffee is approx £2-3, beer, drinks and juices are slightly cheaper than at home and you can find advertised cheaper drinks. Day trips/jeep safari/boat trips are approx £18 pp but can sometimes be negotiated down to two for £28 etc. If Self Catering then you need more cash but can economise on keeping juice water in your own fridge and making your own breakfast/ lunch some days. If All Inclusive then take extra cash as you must eat out some nights and drink at other places - this is the whole fun of Marmaris! The airports are very expensive. Take some English money to the markets, you can get a better bargain that way (i.e 3 t-shirts for £10).
