I have just got back from a trip to Marmaris with a close firiend and would like to warn future tourists about the pushy bar/shop owners that won't take NO for an answer! We enjoyed our trip to Marmaris apart from one thing... every single bar/shop owner waits outside and shouts at you to go in, we found it rather intimidating because some owners pretty much harrassed us. We started taking long routes to the beach etc. to avoid streets with shops and bars. Some owners actually physically tried to lead us into shops!
Also we found it difficult to sunbathe on the beach because local bar/restaurant owners keep trying to force menus on you and trying to take your orders! There were also women selling bracelets and chains that wouldn't take no for an answer aswell they actually put anklets on me while I was sunbathing and then tried charging me for them!
Just be warned you will be hassled non stop by people trying to sell just about anything and everything.
