    Rima hotel marmaris

Hi everyone, I have just booked this hotel for September and was just looking for some info on in. There isn't much I can find online.

Also if anyone has any general info on cost of activities in marmaris like diving, boat ride and other water type sport, or any other activities there are other then clubbing, it would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I don't actually have any info on this hotel @ moment however, I am going to turkey in 10 days to stay @ Rima and i will let u know how i got on when i come back!!

There are many different companies that provide watersports etc.  I do know when i went diving it was 35.00 GBP, that included 2 dives @ different depths (length of time underwater depended on number of divers) and also lunch, i did do jes skiing also but can't recall the cost although it was pretty expensive to do that!!

    Re: Rima hotel marmaris

I have looked round the place in the past, admittedly a few years ago, but this is what we found.

It's a basic hotel, showers are wet room rather than proper shower, the rooms were clean.

VERY CLOSE TO BEACH, It's in a back alley out the back of Brothers bar (Faros beach bar) which is quite a decent night out, and along from an English pub if that's what lights your candle. Migros supermarket is very nearby as is the water park.

Smallish pool is out the back, (probably very shady) bar on roadside.

You should be OK here, don't expect a lot and you won't be disappointed.

Hi visited the hotel the first 2 weeks in june, was not impressed bar staff were great but dont expect 2 much. Only allowed 1 cup of tea/coffee with breakfast then u pay 4 another one, food ok at times but u dont av a choice. If u dont like the set meal u need to pay. No fridges in rooms and if u purchas water or drinks from shops they will take them off u.Will not be booking there again.

    Re: Rima hotel marmaris

Firstly their own website is a bit hard to find, so here it is:

    http://www.hotelrima.com/english.htm

Just got back from a week at the Rima (stayed 15/9 - 23/9/08. I found it a basic but lovely hotel. The best thing about it is the location - most rooms face the beach, with wonderful views over Marmaris bay, with mountain going down into the sea. Nice balconies to watch it from too. Just a quick walk (yes, it's about 2 minutes) through a empty grassy lot to the beach (I imagine that at some point this might be built on).

Some people have complained about the cleanliness of the hotel, but I couldn't fault it. Our hotel was cleaned every day.

We had a mini-bar fridge in our room (though there were signs up saying not to bring food or drink up to the rooms - bit of a mixed message!) We didn't flaunt any food or drinks we brought in, but nobody seemed to object to us keeping food and drinks in our fridge. I wouldn't keep food outside the fridge though - I once accidentally spilt some pretzel crumbs on the floor and woke up to find ants arrived from nowhere. Good to note they didn't come back after I removed evidence of the food! :)

Unfortunately there's only 1 powerpoint between the TV and fridge, so you have to choose whichever one you want.I took a travel kettle as well and got some milk from the nearby Mega Market (which also does amazing baklava!).

We went for the bed and breakfast option. Breakfast was Turkish - tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and another cheese a bit like mozzarella, boiled eggs and olives. That was fine with us, but others might not like it. You can pay if you want a full English. If you go for half-board, dinner is a set Turkish meal (we had this one night, it was very nice) - again you have to pay if you want something different, so I would suggest B&B may be the better option. We spent one day by the pool instead of the beach and ordered cheeseburgers, which were great. The staff were all lovely, very friendly. We found the bar quite expensive, and we're not really bar people, so we didn't spend much time there, but it had a pleasant relaxed energy.

We paid for airconditioning, which worked perfectly - £20 (40 Turkish lira), and it was worth it.

If want to just relax and you're looking for a simple room near the beach, and Turkish food, this is the place. If you want an amazing pool, hyperactive reps and want to forget you're not in England, this is not your place.
